3 Self-Help Books That Changed My Life

We live in a world where we spend hour’s bingeing on TV box sets and scrolling through social media.

But the question is…when was the last time you read a book?

If it’s been too long then you might be missing out as reading has a number of benefits like stimulating your brain, improving your knowledge and reducing stress.

I re-found my love for reading when I picked up The Secret in 2010.

Since then I have purchased so many self help and business books that not only have I run out of space, but I have enough books to keep me busy for the next couple of years.

This is a round-up of three books that opened my eyes to living a better life.

The Secret – Rhonda Byrne

This book explores the law of attraction and how positive thinking can lead you to happiness, health and wealth.

The book also highlights the importance of gratitude and visualisation and works on the three step process of ask, believe and receive.

The book is also available on DVD and served as the basis for the 2020 film – Dare to Dream

The Miracle Morning – Hal Elrod

If you’re not a morning person, but wish you were then this book is a must read.

The miracle morning started as a book and is now a worldwide movement with millions of people changing their morning routine.

It shows you how to transform your life before 8am with six key practices called ‘SAVERS’ – Silence, Affirmations, Visualisation, Exercise, Reading and Scribbling.

This book will make you want to set your alarm an hour earlier, but if you struggle with that the miracle morning can be completed in as little as 6 minutes.

Reinvent Me – Camilla Scare-Dallerup

This book is one of my favourites. It’s an easy read and a simple 8-part programme to help you reinvent your life.

The programme includes looking at where you are and where need to go, learning how to free yourself from ego based decisions, discover why it’s essential to nurture your talents and commit to your reinvention and embrace the new you.

It’s so good I’ve not only read it twice but purchased two of Camilla’s other books including Strictly Inspirational and Its Not You, It’s Me.
